Static Caravan & mobile home holidays in Austria

There are many words to describe Austria; beautiful, delightful, scenic, to mention but a few, but this little country has it all for anyone who like walking holidays, exploring the mountains, the valleys in which lakes of pure water nestle, shimmering in the sunlight. Yes, camping in Austria is a true delight. All these holidays are termed as camping even though they are really in mobile homes or static caravans.

Leisure Direction have 2 sites for camping/caravan/mobile home holidays in Austria and the first is Camping Woferlgut, a 5 Star parc which is set in the grounds of a chalet-style Gasthof near to the beautiful town of Zell am See (I remember swimming in the lake there 50 years ago!). The campsite has a Tyrolean-style bar and restaurant serving delicious Austrian specialities.

The parc, or site boasts a swimming pool and ‘health suite’, a well maintained recreation area and small lake with a spacious grassy area (accessible via an underpass from the parc), and three miles away is the wonderful lakeside town of Zell am See. The nearest shops are less than a mile away in Bruck.

Zell am See really is the archetypal picture postcard town and it offers beautiful walks and scenic views. One of the biggest attractions in the area is the spectacular Krimml Waterfalls only 33 miles from the campsite. Salzburg, just over an hour away by car is well worth a visit if only because it was the birth place of Mozart and the setting for ‘The Sound of Music’.

The second campsite is called Bella Austria in St Peter Am Kammersberg, Murau. This is a new, high quality site which opened in the summer of 2011 and which is perfect for a ‘back to nature’ holiday. An idyllic base for walking, hiking, riding, cycling and mountain biking, the parc has a swimming pool, sauna and ranch. There’s also an authentic Austrian bar and restaurant.

Whether it’s white-water rafting on the River Mur or strolling through flower-filled meadows, at Bella Austria you can make your holiday as relaxing or action-packed as you like. There are lots of hiking and biking trails locally. The picturesque Solktaler Nature Park is perfect for family adventures. Nearby Murau hosts Shakespeare Days each July. And ‘Sound of Music’ city, Salzburg, is about 90 minutes away.

You will love a camping holiday in Austria, and in this site, or Parc you will think you have been transported to Heaven as the surroundings are so beautiful. It is set at an altitude of 800m in the Katsch Valley where you will be completely at rest and can enjoy your well-deserved holiday.

The surrounding terrain is mountainous and is a part of the local natural parks, and we can assure you that you will enjoy camping in this part of Austria so much you'll want to return for more!
